Bangkok, Thailand | March 2025 — As part of our commitment to supporting Southeast Asia’s transition toward electrification and sustainable industrial practices, Equalithium was honoured to meet with his Excellency Akanat Promphan, Minister of Industry of Thailand, in a high-level engagement held in Bangkok.

The meeting was convened at the request of the Minister, following our recent participation in the EU-ASEAN Business Council Business Mission to Thailand in February 2025. This marks another key milestone in our efforts to contribute meaningfully to the evolving policy and industrial dialogue surrounding electric mobility and battery lifecycle management across ASEAN.

Strengthening Thailand’s Readiness for a Circular Battery Economy

As nations across the region accelerate electrification, the challenge of managing end-of-life (EOL) lithium batteries and scrap material from battery manufacturing is becoming increasingly urgent. Rather than a future concern, this is a present-day issue—one that demands proactive regulatory frameworks, industry alignment, and innovative infrastructure.

In our discussion with the Ministry, Equalithium emphasized the strategic importance of building robust, safe, and environmentally responsible systems for battery collection, recycling, and recovery. We showcased how our Mobility Battery Recovery Solutions are designed to not only reclaim critical raw materials, but also reduce environmental risks, support industrial ecosystems, and drive long-term sustainability.

Our Commitment to Partnership and Policy Alignment

With experience engaging regulatory bodies across the region—including recent dialogues with authorities in Singapore—Equalithium stands ready to support Thailand’s ambitions in shaping a resilient, circular, and innovation-driven industrial future.

We are deeply grateful to the Ministry of Industry for their interest and leadership on this critical issue. We look forward to further collaboration as Thailand charts its path toward a clean, circular, and competitive battery economy.
